- Grinding, squealing, or rattling on the way up. When the ball bearings inside the roller wheel start to seize, the wheel stops spinning and starts sliding against the track. That metal-on-metal drag is the sound you hear, and it gets worse every cycle.
- The door shudders or staggers on one side. A seized roller forces the opener to work harder on one track than the other. The door will climb unevenly, and the motor will sound like it’s straining harder than it should.
