Meet the Charlotte Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

We’re a small crew, and that’s the point. No rotating cast of strangers, no trainee guessing at your torsion spring. The people who answer the phone, quote the job, and pull into your driveway are the same people you’ll see at the hardware store on a Tuesday. We’ve kept the team tight since 2004 because garage doors fail in specific ways around Charlotte, TX, and there’s no substitute for having fixed a few thousand of them yourself. Heat, dust, and hard water do things to springs and rails that no manual covers. Our people know because they’ve lived it.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt, Owner & Lead Technician

Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 and still takes service calls himself. He quotes jobs on the phone and holds that number when he arrives, which is why the name on the van, the invoice, and the license all match. He’s trained across LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor, and he counts spring cycles the way other people count tire miles. After 29 years in this county, he’ll tell you straight if a part has six months left on it. He’s also the one who answers the phone at nine at night when your vehicle is sealed inside and the spring has let go. Outside of work, he’s the guy at the Atascosa County livestock auction who bids slowly and leaves early.

Marcus D., Senior Installer

Marcus has been hanging doors with Otto for over a decade, and his specialty is new installation on homes from Charlotte down toward Jourdanton. He’s the one who spots that your slab has settled a quarter inch before the new door ever comes off the truck, because a door that doesn’t square up is a callback waiting to happen. Marcus is certified on Clopay and Amarr product lines and handles the heavy structural work: new tracks, reinforced headers, and full tear-outs. His side project is rebuilding a 1972 Ford pickup, and he’ll talk your ear off about it if you let him, but he’ll also have your old door loaded and your driveway swept before he leaves.

Elena S., Service Coordinator

Elena is the voice on the phone most mornings, and she’s the reason a live person answers around the clock. She’s been with Otto’s Garage Door for seven years and knows the service area well enough to tell you whether the squeak you’re describing sounds like a roller or a spring, and whether it can wait until tomorrow. She schedules every call, tracks the 90-Day Done Right Promise on every invoice, and makes sure the Senior and Veteran 10% discount gets applied without anyone having to ask twice. Before this, she ran the front office at a hardware supplier in Pleasanton, which means she can look up a part number faster than most people can find their keys. She keeps a jar of dog treats by the door for the homes with friendly dogs, and she remembers which ones are which.

Tommy R., Apprentice & Parts Runner

Tommy’s been with us for two years, and he’s the one who makes sure the truck is stocked before sunrise. He started by sweeping the shop and running parts between jobs, and now he’s hands-on with roller replacements, weather seal, and opener diagnostics under Otto’s eye. Tommy’s learning the trade the slow way, which is the right way: he’ll watch a spring get cycled and wound before he ever touches one himself, because a door is 200 pounds riding on two springs and deserves respect. He grew up outside Charlotte and knows every back road between here and Christine. He also keeps the coffee in the shop strong enough to stand a spoon in, which the crew considers a job qualification in its own right.

One Standard, Every Job

The 90-Day Done Right Promise is not a slogan on a sticker. It’s ninety days in writing on every garage door job we do, and it means one call brings Otto back, no runaround. Whether it’s Marcus setting a new door, Tommy swapping weather seal, or Otto himself replacing a spring at nine at night, the standard doesn’t shift with the truck. We quote the price before any work starts, and that number is the number, full stop. We’re locally owned and owner-operated, with a published address and license number any homeowner can verify before the truck arrives. No trip charge inside our county, free second opinions on any written estimate, and a permanent 10% discount for seniors and veterans. The name on the van is the name on the invoice is the name on the license. Ask anyone on your street. We’ve been in this county since 2004, and Otto is a palindrome: reads the same from either end, same as the door.
